Hold up for a sec.
Let’s talk about drive. What is it and why do you need it in your business – and even your personal life?
If you want to be successful, you need this – the element called DRIVE (cue in Dwayne Johnson’s – ‘Face-Off’)

The drive we’re talking about here is an energy, a force that pushes you to be determined and to keep working hard until you’re successful – not your typical Uber Drive, eh?
Yeah, what I just said…
Now when you got drive, it means you have a strong passion for what you do. It makes you work harder every day. It also means getting out of your comfort zone yeah… I said it… Same old comfort zones that those motivational speakers tell you about, yeah you need to get outta there.
Passion to succeed

Most people confuse passion for drive…and that’s because they’re very similar qualities. It’s like a car, yeah? Passion is the fuel that drives the vehicle – in this case, your dreams, your goals, your visions, your business. Drive is in fact, the engine.
Get it? Yeah, I’m smart, I know. You’re welcome.
There has been different interpretations of the word ‘success’ to so many. We all define success differently. Some people define success as earning enough money to live contentedly. To others, success means influence or prestige within their industry. Some see success as having to be able to afford a luxurious lifestyle and buy whatever they want, and shake bum-bum…on a yatch…in Dubai 🌚 (IYKYK).

And the amazing thing is THEY’RE ALL VALID.
Depending on your personal definition, it is what it is.
Here’s a few questions to help you define YOUR success:

- What am I enthusiastic about?
- Who do I wish to be like?
- What kind of life do I want?
- What do I want to achieve?
- What are my goals?
- What are my priorities?
- Am I willing to sacrifice anything in order to achieve those goals and priorities?
So how does this help my business?

Your business is, in fact, an extension of yourself. It’s who you are. Driven people make driven businesses. When you care about the success of your business, you will do anything to make sure it succeeds, yeah? So your passion for your business, should be an inseparable link of how you feel about;Your customers
The kind of product or service that you offer them
The people who work for you.
You can’t fake it. You must be a passionate and driven person for it to reflect in your business. Can I get an Amen from the back?
Getting out of your comfort zone.

Yep we’re back here to the ‘comfort zone’ topic. You thought we weren’t going to talk about it? Lol, honey, you HAVE to get out of there. Every successful person left already.
It only takes a minute, trust me. There. You’re out. Now you have only one job. DON’T GO BACK IN!
Here’s a list of affirmations you can write down to remind yourself.
- I will be comfortable with being uncomfortable.
- Success is not a comfortable position
- If I stay in my comfort zone that’s where I’ll fail
- I must face my fears to find success
- It’s okay to make mistakes
- I must learn from my mistakes.
Good Communication skills
This right here’s a bonus section.
For you to be successful you’ll have to communicate with customers and other stakeholders in ways that allow them to feel comfortable interacting with you and your business—staying open and honest while doing so.
Invest in building your capacity to communicate. Aim at being an effective communicator with anyone; friends, family, customers and most especially your team.

Does Drive equal RAVING LUNATIC?

For a lot of people, the word “driven” can have a negative connotation. It shows the images of a workaholic who never takes time off and obsesses over their projects 24/7 (😉You know yourselves). If you are one of those people, step on the brakes!
The goal is to be driven in a healthy way. Being motivated, focused and constantly looking for ways to improve your business will help you reach your goals faster than just going through the motions every day.
Conclusion
Being driven means you have a passion for the success of your business and its place in the market. It’s all about getting out of your comfort zone (and staying out), communication skills and so much more. If you want to be the best, then you need to be driven to succeed!
So, fill up your gas tank, stir up your engine…and DRIVE!
