OUR INTERVIEW WITH EMMANUELLA

(Note: The interview took place at Sheraton Hotels in Lagos, Nigeria, in January 2022, and has been transcribed verbatim to capture the essence of the conversation between Ella and Simpletin Consulting.)

Interviewer: Hi, I’m the interviewer from Simpleton Consulting, a UK-based firm specializing in educational services and other areas. Today, we have Ella, one of our successful students whom we assisted with her admission and visa application process. Please introduce yourself and share your thoughts on Simpleton Consulting.

Ella: Hello, my name is Ella. My first experience with Simpletin Consulting was in Abuja last September during a student event they organized. It was a wonderful experience that I’ll never forget. They stood out from other schools because they were well-prepared and provided gifts and souvenirs. They warmly welcomed parents and students, answering questions with knowledge and confidence. It made me happy to know that they truly understand their work and have a good relationship with the schools they collaborate with. I trusted that I wouldn’t encounter any problems with them because they knew my educational goals and would guide me accordingly. Thank you so much.

Interviewer: Thank you, Ella, for sharing your positive experience with Simpletin Consulting. Now, what do you know about universities or colleges in the United States?

Ella: Based on the universities I’ve applied to, I’ve learned that they have specific age requirements for admission. For example, they prefer students who are 17 or 18 years old. Initially, I was unaware of this age requirement, so when I applied for another university, I was placed in the four-semester program starting in 2023, which wasn’t my preferred option. I actually wanted to begin right after high school when I turned 16. However, Trine allowed me to start at 16. And although they have a policy that students under the age of 21 must stay on campus, it’s something I’m perfectly fine with. I appreciate the supervision and guidance provided in such an environment.

Interviewer: Thank you for your response, Ella. So, I’m curious. Why did you choose the United States over other countries?

Ella: I chose the United States because I’m passionate about pursuing a career in the medical field, particularly anatomy. Watching medical practitioners in the US care for patients has always fascinated me, and I wanted to experience that environment firsthand. I believe it would be the perfect place to learn effective communication skills with patients. Moreover, the United States offers a diverse and friendly environment with various cultures that I’m eager to immerse myself in. I’ve always been adventurous and have a strong desire to explore different countries, meet new people, and gain insight into their perspectives. Moving to the United States allows me to step out of my comfort zone and seize the opportunity to visit different states and make the most of my education. The advanced medical facilities available there are also not yet available in Nigeria. Studying in the US would provide me with the chance to learn and understand how those facilities operate, contributing to my future growth.

Interviewer: Thank you, Ella, for sharing your reasons for choosing the United States. It sounds like an exciting and fulfilling path for your career. So, Ella, tell us, do you have any other plans in the United States?

Ella: Apart from studying?

Interviewer: Yes! (laughs)

Ella: (Joins in the laughter) Well, I’ve seen and heard that there are lots of fun places in America which I would love to see myself. Apart from just being in America, I also love and enjoy seeing new places. So, I also take the time to look around, visit different countries, learn about different cultures, and experience how things are in different places. This applies not only to different countries but also different states within the US.

Interviewer: Okay, that’s a good one. So, we have this question: If your visa application is rejected, what are your plans?

Ella: If my visa application is rejected, I still have to go to school. My session is supposed to start on Monday, January 9th, which means I have missed a lot of assessments that started a long time ago. I can’t just sit around waiting for something to happen!

Interviewer: Exactly, that’s why you need to be prepared.

Ella: That’s why you need to be proactive.

Interviewer: That’s right. We wish you the best of luck.

Interviewer: What do you have to say to viewers who are aiming to travel abroad in terms of applications?

Ella: In terms of applications, what I’d like to say is that when you have a goal to aim for, you shouldn’t just sit around and wait for time to pass. Instead of waiting for someone to come and help you achieve your goal, even if you need motivation, you can’t just sit around and wait for people to come and motivate you. You need to have something that pushes you to achieve your goals. And I highly recommend Simpletin Consulting to help you make your processes seamless and easy.
